What is The Beauty Bus?

The Beauty Bus is a mobile beauty salon available to those in South Oxfordshire postcodes of OX10, OX11, OX12, OX13 & OX14. RG8, RG14, RG18 & RG20 are limited to requests. Please email info@the-beauty-bus.com to request a booking before doing so online.

I bring all the treatments that a physical salon has, to you! You have the convenience of a mobile therapist with the luxury surroundings of a beauty salon without any compromise. I operate on a one-to-one basis so all attention is on you and your treatment.

How does it work?

Like all other salons or mobile therapists just get in touch. State which treatment or treatments you want and when, and I’ll get you booked in! Alternatively, online booking is also available! Just add your address to the notes if you are a new client. I can come to your home or work so long as you are within the catchment area. Please note: if it is a premises of work, please obtain permission from your business building before booking.

Ideally if you have a drive or parking space then that will be perfect. If street parking is only available then that is fine, so long is it is not restricting any other person or business. If a suitable area is not available then another location close to you may have to be arranged. It is your responsibility to indicate suitable parking locations when booking.

Where will you come to?

The Beauty Bus is based in Didcot, Oxfordshire. I am available for postcodes OX10, OX11, OX12, OX13 & OX14. RG8, RG14, RG18 & RG20 on request. If you’re outside the catchment area then please get in touch. I may be able to arrange a time to come, however there will be an additional charge. It may be an idea to ask friends, family or neighbours if they want anything too and create it as a collective booking!

How big is The Beauty Bus?

The Beauty Bus is within a LWB (long-wheelbase) Mercedes Sprinter van. The exterior dimensions of The Bus are 2m 82cm high, 2m 43cm wide and 6m 95cm long. If parked in a standard parking space, it needs about an extra metre of length. The Beauty Bus will not be able to park or drive under any bridges 3m, and under.

Inside The Beauty Bus you can stand up straight comfortably without needing to duck. I am 5’11” and I still have an extra foot above me.

What is access to The Beauty Bus like?

You will enter The Beauty Bus through the side door on the Near-side. There will be 3 easy steps leading up into the salon. If you are unable to use the steps then I will need to know when you are booking your appointment so other arrangements can be made. If you are unable to access The Beauty Bus, then treatments will have to be carried out within your chosen environment. There is a possibility that some treatments will have to be adjusted because of this. Please be aware that at the moment, I do not have a ramp into The Beauty Bus. Beauty Treatments will have to be done within your home if wheelchair access is required. An additional charge will be implemented if home treatments haven't been arranged beforehand.

In-house appointments are only available as a last resort if you are unable to access The Beauty Bus. This has to be requested before booking and is only available for a select few appointments. Please enquire before booking.

Can I just have one treatment?

Yes, However there is a minimum spend of £30. No bookings will be accepted under £30 unless it is part of a group booking or you are coming to me and this has been prearranged. Please drop me an email at info@the-beauty-bus.com if you would like a small treatment that's under £30.

What are Oncology Beauty Treatments?

Oncology beauty treatments are beauty treatments for those who are under active cancer treatment or for those post treatment. All cancer patients are welcome to have beauty treatments here.

Can I have beauty treatments when I have cancer?

Absolutely! The whole ethos behind The Beauty Bus is an Inclusive Beauty Salon. As a cancer patient in the past, I know how devastating an impact it has on you and everyone around you. The whole idea of The Beauty Bus came about to make beauty therapy treatments more accessible to cancer patients. I know some salons may have turned you away in the past but you will not find that here. I am fully qualified in Oncology Beauty Treatments. If you are buying treatments as a gift then please let me know beforehand. The great thing about The Beauty Bus is the privacy. It is a personalised One-to-One experience that focuses on YOU. Please be aware that some treatments may need to be adapted, however, I will NEVER compromise on the quality or time of the treatment. We may just need to swap a few things or add in some extras! There will be some treatments that are completely off limits like any tinting, brow lamination or Lash lifting but I can discuss this with you further if needed.

Can I still have massage when I have cancer?

Yes. A letter from your oncologist will be required. The Beauty Bus provides light-touch massage which means massage is available to you if you are in active treatment for cancer or are post treatment. There may need to be some adaptations made to your treatment but please discuss with me what you would like further, I am happy to accommodate. My salon is a safe space so rest assured that you will be in the best of hands.

I have a compromised immune system. Will I be safe to have treatments?

The Beauty Bus prides itself with the highest standards of hygiene. Yes, friends or family members are welcome too (Excluding children under the age of 16). However please remember that I am a small space salon so there will be a limit of 2 people accompanying your appointment. I can do treatments on larger groups However, they will have to wait in your residence, if the salon was parked at your home, for example. You are entirely responsible for them when they are not in The Beauty Bus. No children under the age of 16 can attend your appointment.

I need a patch test. What do I do?

For a patch test, please drop me a text or email to arrange it. I can either post one out or if I am in the area, then I can arrange a time to come to you to do one. If you are already booked in for a treatment that doesn’t need a patch test, for example, a manicure, then I can do a patch test so you are ready for future appointments. A patch test will need to be carried out 48 hours’ before the treatment can commence. No exceptions. A patch test will be needed for any treatments involving tinting, brow lamination or lash lifts.

Do you accept cards?

The Beauty Bus’ booking system, Fresha, requires you to confirm your appointment with a payment card. This can be either a credit or debit card. I do not hold your card details, and payments will not be taken until your appointment has been completed. Reminders for your appointment will be sent out to you via the email and mobile number you log. The Beauty Bus also has a card terminal if you decide to pay with a different card. I also accept Cash, Bank Transfers and Gift Vouchers. All types of payment cards are accepted.

Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes. You have 12 months to use your gift voucher. Vouchers can be bought as a monetary value or for a specific treatment. The voucher can be exchanged towards other treatments of the same value.

If you are purchasing Oncology Beauty Treatments as a gift for someone then please get in touch to discuss options further so I can guide you to the best options.

What if I want to cancel my appointment?

The Beauty Bus holds a strict cancellation policy. I understand that sometimes you may have to cancel your appointment. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice, otherwise a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of your bookings may be charged. If less than 24 hours notice is given then you will be charged 100% of the cost of your booking. Your payment details will be taken at the time of booking your appointment. It is very difficult to fill appointments at such short notice, but if the cancelled appointment time is filled then I will not charge you the cancellation fee.

If you need to cancel, please give me a call or text. Please don’t email or put a message on social media. I cannot be held responsible for messages sent but not received. I will always reply to requests to cancel appointments so please do not assume that because you’ve sent a message that it is cancelled, you may still be charged.

Once your appointment is booked you will be asked to ‘confirm’ your appointment. where you will have the option to confirm that you understand and agree to the cancellation policy and the terms and conditions. You will then be directed to enter your card details. I DO NOT STORE YOUR CARD DETAILS. This is held by, Fresha, the booking system that I use. It is similar to what you would do if you were paying for a hotel room. Your card will only ever be charged once you have attended your appointment or if you cancel your appointment without the appropriate notice required.

If you have any further questions or queries that I have not answered above, then please email me at info@the-beauty-bus.com and I will answer you as soon as I can. Any improvements are always welcome!
